The 2nd September saw the official European product launch of LIGMAN IoT LIGHTCONNECTTM, which was held at our state-of-the-art European Factory and Visitor Centre.

LIGMAN’s key global regional partners attended and they were welcomed, and the event was opened, by Mr. Sakchai Manawongsakul, President and CEO LIGMAN whom gave a Keynote presentation showcasing LIGMAN’s global operations.

Technical presentations followed from LIGMAN’s Global Technical Director, Trevor Leighton introducing the new LIGMAN LIGHTCONNECTTM system and how LIGMAN will supports IoT and our Product Development Manager, Stephen Dunk showcasing all LIGMAN IoT ready luminaires, showing the wider possibilities of CMS software (City (or Control) Management Software) and also gave updates on the L-COLUMN Luminaire Family.

It has a been a busy Summer for LIGMAN with us supporting and attending numerous lighting events around the world.

In North America, LIGMAN Lighting USA supported the IES Annual Conference which was held in Louisville, Kentucky and LIGMAN’s Global Design Director, Martin Valentine also spoke as part of the conference program and after the event continued presenting to IESNA chapters in a number of other US cities.

LIGMAN and our local Partners Efficient Lighting Systems (ELS) again supported the Australian Smart Lighting Summit and Martin Valentine also gave a paper at this event, looking at the correlation between commercial lighting techniques and cinematography as well as speaking on a panel on the subject of artificial light spectrum and nighttime lighting.

As in previous years, the 2019 summit took place at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre and this year’s event saw LIGMAN and ELS showcase our new L-COLUMN and LIGHTCONNECTTM technologies.

LIGMAN and ELS then toured Australia and gave further presentations to designers and engineers in events organised in Adelaide, Perth and Hobart as well as further meetings in Brisbane and Sydney.

Earlier in June LIGMAN exhibited at the Guangzhou Fair and this was followed by us exhibiting in Moscow in September at the annual Interlight event.

Project – Skyline Queenstown Nighttime Luge Run, Queenstown, New Zealand

A new experience is now open in the stunning Skyline Queenstown on New Zealand’s South Island. LIGMAN together with IMPRESSIONS LIGHTING, working with Powell Fenwick Consultants in Christchurch

306 ZAAB-1 spotlights fitted with anti-glare visors and carefully angled, a third of which fitted with coloured dichroic filters, have been installed along the runs with the aid of 5.5km of cabling.

The project has been more than a year in the making and will transform Skyline Queenstown’s evening operations.

Skyline Queenstown general manager Wayne Rose notes “Working closely with Queenstown Lakes District Council, we’ve taken every step to make sure this experience blends in with our environment. The shrouded Dark Sky-compliant light fittings are designed to direct maximum light to the tracks, while ensuring minimal light pollution to the surrounding area.”

The Night Luge is open year-round and will run from dusk until 8pm daily.

Project – Seattle Vulcan Lakefront, Washington, USA

LIGMAN Lighting USA working closely with Pacific Lighting Systems (PLS Lighting) Seattle recently completed the installation for the Seattle (B31) Vulcan Lakefront development on the south side of Lake Union in Seattle.

The project which also houses Google’s new Seattle offices, comprised of ODESSA Tapered-Column Projectors along the entire lakeside frontage, offering a beautiful and unique technical solution with individual aiming onto the landscaping, pathways and key façade features.

The columns were pre-assembled, and all ODESSA projectors fitted with anti-glare visors. In addition, it was manufactured and delivered in record time to meet a tight project deadline of only 4-weeks!
