The Jury evaluated all entries based on three core pillars:
Conceptual DepthThe clarity and strength of the design idea behind the project.
Creative Utilisation of LightHow LIGMAN products were used to translate the concept into reality.
AmbienceThe ability to create an inviting environment that designers would feel inspired to visit.
The Jury praised this project for its “sensible yet innovative” approach to lighting a religious landscape.
Layers of Hierarchy The lighting establishes visual priorities by creating focal points and depth within the sacred space, guiding attention while maintaining harmony.
Bold Colour ApplicationThe project successfully introduced colour-changing lighting into a religious and landscape context, challenging the traditional use of static white light.
Reframing Product UseThe design revealed new creative possibilities for LIGMAN’s product range, encouraging the Jury to rethink how area lighting and bollards can be applied beyond conventional use.
The Jury highlighted several key strengths:
– Clear understanding of foreground and background lighting layers– Thoughtful lighting control strategy that enhances emotional impact– Strong example of how RGB can be used meaningfully in landscape projects– A showcase of LIGMAN’s product versatility, performance, and capability– Excellent lighting composition within the landscape– Professional photography that avoids visible light sources and captures the project from ideal angles
“One of the main criteria was the concept behind the project, followed by the creative use of light, especially LIGMAN products, to achieve that concept. Project Kanha Ashram showed a sensible yet innovative approach to lighting a religious space. The way light was used to create layers of hierarchy and focus points was very successful. The creative use of colour lighting in the landscape opened our eyes as designers and made us rethink how we use area lighting and bollards. It made us re-evaluate our own design approach.”
“This project opened my mind about how colour can be applied in a religious project. Normally, we think only of static lighting in such spaces. This project showed how colour-changing lighting can be used successfully and highlighted the variety of LIGMAN products available.”
The project demonstrates the versatility of LIGMAN’s outdoor lighting portfolio:
