‘A Gold (AU) Night | Light up in the garden’ is a collaborative project between Assumption University (AU) and the International Landscape Lighting Institute (ILLI) which took place on 28 January 2023 at the AU library area, AU garden and the Thai pavilion (Sala Pratipalai), Assumption University of Thailand,
Hua Mak Campus.

This event was one of a number of activities celebrating the 25th anniversary of AAU: Montfort del Rosario School of Architecture and Design,
in collaboration with the Association of Siamese Architects (ASA) under Royal Patronage, Thai Association for Landscape Architects (TALA) and suppliers from the lighting industry.

The two part event featured an exclusive lecture by two prominent lighting designers of ILLI Board of Directors under the topic of “The art of Landscape Illumination” and “Prescriptive vs. Artistic.” One of the newly developed lecture topics, offered for the first time by ILLI founder Janet Lennox Moyer.

The insights from the lectures were then applied in an on-site workshop in the AU garden with lighting design experts and landscape architects in Thailand. As a sponsor of the event, LIGMAN provided luminaires and support during the workshop which, with a main concept of gold, focused on the use of warm white light in the 2700K to 3000K range. However there were also opportunities to explore the use of RGBW for highlighting and creating unique scenes within the illuminated landscape.

The ‘A Gold (AU) Night | Light up in the garden’ event was a great success and testament to LIGMAN’s support of lighting education and contribution to
the industry.
