DarkSky Approved Ranges

DarkSky was founded in 1988 with a mission to preserve and protect the nighttime environment and our heritage of dark skies through environmentally responsible outdoor lighting. www.darksky.org

DarkSky Fixture Seal of Approval program certifies outdoor lighting fixtures as being DarkSky Approved, ensuring they minimise glare while reducing light trespass and skyglow. All products approved in the program are required to be fully shielded and to minimise the amount of blue light in the nighttime environment.

The current criteria for the program has been in operation since 2016 and of all the participating companies worldwide to date, LIGMAN has larger number of DarkSky certified products! Look out for the DarkSky Approved Seal

Please Note: For DarkSky project compliance, in order to meet the terms of the fixture FSA and thus meet DarkSky Approved criteria, fixtures must be specified with 3000K CCT or Warmer (plus Amber, or warm filtered) LED sources, fixed luminaire mounts must be ordered and the fixtures must be site orientated so that no light is directly emitted above the horizontal plane.

To check the full compliance requirements of the luminaires and their use, please find the full DarkSky FSA criteria here: https://www.darksky.org/our-work/lighting/lighting-for-industry/fsa/apply-fsa/

If required, LIGMAN’s in-house design team can offer assistance in product selection and lighting calculations to aid project compliance to DarkSky criteria.

Certified LIGMAN products all display the DarkSky Fixture Seal of Approval (FSA) denoting the current standard’s date and DarkSky Approved
