Bangladesh’s first ever expressway, from Dhaka to Faridpur’s Bhanga upazila, was inaugurated one year ago by Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on 12th March, 2020.
Commissioned by the Road Transport and Highways Division of the Bangladesh Government and executed by the Special Works Division (SWD) of the Bangladesh Army, the expressway is also a part of the Asian Highway AH1, connecting Dhaka, Bangladesh with Kolkata, India.
M/s Heavens Lighting, Dhaka, Bangladesh, supplied LIGMAN BILLUND (previously BELFAST, BEL-90041-T2-W50) street and area lighting fittings for the 54.7km four-lane Dhaka-Bhanga Expressway, which is expected to reduce travel time between Dhaka and Faridpur by several hours.
