Jagannath Dham, India – A landmark destination celebrating culture, spirituality, and community.
Located in Digha, India, Jagannath Dham was conceived as a landmark cultural destination that brings together architecture, spirituality, and public life. Designed by Salient Design Studio with lighting design by Lightkrafts Pvt. Ltd., the project creates a memorable environment for visitors while reinforcing the site’s importance as a place of gathering, reflection, and celebration.
As a destination expected to welcome large numbers of visitors throughout the day and into the evening, the lighting strategy played a key role in shaping the experience after dark. The objective was to create a visually comfortable environment that supports movement, enhances safety, and highlights the architectural character of the development without detracting from its cultural significance.
To achieve these goals, LIGMAN’s INFINITE luminaires were integrated throughout the project. The lighting solution helps define circulation routes, improve visual comfort, and contribute to a welcoming nighttime atmosphere while complementing the scale and presence of the architecture.
The result is a vibrant public destination that remains active and inviting beyond daylight hours. Through the thoughtful integration of lighting and architecture, Jagannath Dham demonstrates how illumination can support both functionality and the overall visitor experience while respecting the cultural identity of the place.
