The new rail line in Sydney’s northwest is part of the largest public transport project Australia has ever seen. The first stage of this major infrastructure project involved the design of eight new stations and precincts, plus upgrades to five existing stations.
Each of the new stations and precincts along the Metro North West line is defined by their recognisable station canopies, giving them each an easily recognisable characteristic. A cohesive and consistent lighting design concept is part of the station masterplan.
Custom made LIGMAN – TANGO luminaires featuring a larger housing have been employed throughout the project, allowing for a consistent aesthetic appearange that supports the overall design.
These state of the art stations – which include driverless trains, full automation and accessibility – also take advantage of DALI technology for ultimate control over the lighting to improve maintenance, increase safety, and save power.
