Project – CLEVER, Copenhagen, Denmark

CLEVER are the largest network of electric vehicle charging points in Denmark. With over 5,500 public charging points throughout the country 
Architect Dan Stubbergaard from Cobe, together with Strunge Jensen A/S engineers, have created an environmentally friendly alternative to the traditional fuel station. 

“Electric vehicles are the way of the future. With our design we offer EV drivers a welcome break and an opportunity to recharge mentally in a calm oasis. We wanted the architecture, the materials and the concept to reflect that. Hence, we designed a charging station in natural materials placed in a clean, calm setting with trees and plants that offer people a dose of mindfulness on the highway.”

The modular construction of the charging station allows the design to scale to the requirements of each location. A variety of LIGMAN luminaires are incorporated within the design. ODESSA Surface exterior downlights for general lighting under the wooden canopies. ODESSA fixed base projectors to highlight the structure, and KIOS in-ground luminaires to assist motorists orient their vehicles. 
With an additional 16,000 charging points expected to be installed by 2025, the charging station in Knudshoved, Denmark is a preview of the automotive future.

Project – Château des pères Hôtel Essenciel, Piré sur seiche, France

Château des pères Hôtel Essenciel is a unique 4 star hotel built on the estate of the Domaine du Château des Pères. This new and atypical hotel experience was commissioned by client Groupe Legendre, and designed by Architectural office Agence d’Architecture Unité. Inspired by nature and appearing like an avant-garde tree, the minimalist design is one of its kind. 
The lighting design had a unique set of challenges. The exterior surfaces consisted of three copper-like tones throughout the entire building. The luminaires should not disturb the appearance of the building, and the soft lighting should enhance the metal facade.
Envisaging the structure as a tree, the central pillar is illuminated with VEKTER surface facade luminaires. The 30m tall structure then glows from the inside out, with light reflecting on the metal surfaces. ZEAT floodlights provide supplementary lighting to each individual room, branching from the central column. Throughout the sculpture park and garden, mast mounted ODESSA spotlights enhance the night time atmosphere. 
The Château des Pères is a boutique centre for art, culture and gastronomy. Located in Piré-Chancé, 25 minutes from Rennes, France. The hotel offers 42 rooms of 26 m² with top-of-the-range services and access to a spa with balneotherapy, sauna and hammam.

Project – John Gorton Building, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia

The John Gorton Building is a federal government office located in the Parliamentary Triangle in Canberra, Australia. The heritage listed building houses the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment.
 
A good example of Inter-war Stripped Classical style architecture. The building exterior features many symmetrical façade elements and division of elevations into vertical bays. 
 
The exterior illumination emphasises the strong architectural presence of the building. QUANTUM floodlights and projectors provide even lighting across the façade. With the facility for dynamic RGBW lighting to further differentiate the building in the night landscape.

Announcement – New pole features

We are pleased to announce our latest website update. As you know, LIGMAN not only produces world class luminaires, but also a range of galvanised steel and aluminium lighting poles. The updated pages feature comprehensive detail about each of the pole families, for better planning of each project. 

Each pole type now has a automatic specification sheet available to download as PDF with a detailed overview of the pole family.

There are now three new fields in additional to the previously available information:

The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) is a high performance sports training facility in Canberra, Australia. The AIS is recognised as an Olympic and Paralympic support centre for nurturing the development of Australian Olympic and Paralympic athletes. 
 
The indoor sprint track caters to the strict demands of sport and athletic performance science. High levels of uniform illumination are achieved via a combination of QUANTUM and VEKTOR floodlights along the length of the hall.  
 
This not only enables high quality video broadcasting from within the facility. But also high definition documentation and analysis of performances required at this level.
